Look, we realize tractors and equipment on the road can present an inconvenience to our rural neighbors, but even we had to give this hauling operation a double-take.

Say it ain't so, Cookie Monster. Even our favorite poster child for fun in food has been caught up in the rush to promote joyless eating.

Following last week's position statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics, blaming media for contributing to childhood obesity, many were jumping on the healthy kids bandwagon in an attempt to head off potential action by Congress and regulators to ban programming that doesn't conform to the new health consciousness. Caught up in the pack: Our favorite poster child for gleeful abandon, Sesame Street's Cookie Monster. As seen in this historical evolution of the 50 year old mascot for pure food enjoyment, apparently C no longer stands for Cookie, but for Correct, Politically.

As farmers, we're proud of the multitude of uses people find for our food products. But we had no idea! If your shoppers are limiting their bacon intake to breakfast only, they are missing out on the latest Internet craze. Bacon's everywhere! Here are some examples:
